In Memoriam
Father James "Jay" Matthews was the 3rd Rector of the Cathedral of Christ the Light. Ordained to the priesthood in 1974, he had the distinction of being the first African-American ordained in Northern California. Most unexpectedly, Father Jay passed away this very day, March 30 - seven years ago - at the age of 70.
