Saint Francis de Sales is the secondary patron of the Diocese of Oakland, hence today ranks as Obligatory Memorial in all parishes within the Diocese.
Providentially, today is the 22nd Walk for Life - West Coast. Join thousands of Catholics and fellow Pro‐Lifers from all over California as we stand up for the littlest among us. The rally begins at 12:30PM in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza, and the Walk, down the city’s Market Street, begins at around 1:30PM.
Saint Francis de Sales emphasized the sanctity of life from conception, viewing the womb as God's workshop - a sacred space - where He forms each person, granting unique dignity, and he composed prayers for expectant mothers, seeing pregnancy as a sacred collaboration with God in His creative work, a profound blessing to be nurtured with trust and faith, recognizing the unborn child as a beloved creation destined for heaven.
Saint Francis de Sales, pray for us!
