Greetings of Christmas joy,
As we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family within the Octave of Christmas, we are blessed to have the opportunity to gather together for the Closing Mass of the Jubilee Year of Hope on December 28, 11AM at the Cathedral, with Bishop Barber presiding.
My esteemed brother-clergy, you are most welcome to vest and concelebrate/serve. Please be at the main sacristy no later than 10:30AM to check in for Mass, with your white alb. Cathedral vestments will be available for you to use, unless you have your personal Jubilee Year of Hope vestments with you from Rome or elsewhere.
To my fellow pilgrims from the parishes who have been part of this journey for the last year, you are all welcome to participate in this milestone event! I am soooooo looking forward to celebrate with all of you. If you have your Jubilee shirts (with the logo), please wear them. Otherwise, you may wear any red, blue, yellow or green to capture the spirit of this great Jubilee!
Parish representatives must check in at the Plaza for their Cathedral-provided flag (original from the dedication of the Cathedral back in 2008) and free Jubilee shirt as early as 10AM. Ministries can likewise bring their own banners, and they will be lined up to join the pre-Mass procession behind their home parish.
Following Mass, there will be a simple fellowship at the Upper Room, Plaza and Hall of Honor to continue our celebration of this precious gift of the Jubilee Year!
Kindly disseminate freely and joyfully!
Always grateful,
Father Erick Villa
